Jets’ Morgan Barron leaves game vs. Kraken with lower-body injury
Stephen Brashear-USA TODAY Sports

The Winnipeg Jets announced on social media that forward Morgan Barron left Tuesday’s game vs. the Seattle Kraken with a lower-body injury and would not return.

While it’s unclear how Barron was injured, but Winnipeg News reporter Mike McIntyre said he “noticed him limping a bit after an early shift.”

The 25-year-old native of Halifax, N.S. has 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points in 79 games with the Jets this season. Now in his fourth season in the NHL, Barron has 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points in 181 career games with the Jets and New York Rangers.

Going into the game, the Jets were 50-24-6 with 106 points, second in the Central Division and one point ahead of the Colorado Avalanche with a game in hand. The two teams will face each other in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but now it’s a matter of whether Winnipeg or Colorado will have home-ice advantage in the seven-game series.

The Jets have one more game after Tuesday, as they host the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. If the Jets win either game, they will clinch home ice against the Avalanche.
